Did you know?
From designing, building, setting up and maintaining the displays, to running wires for lighting and luminaries, to managing traffic and greeting visitors, Galaxy of Lights is entirely a volunteer-run operation.
Galaxy started in 1996 with 25 scenes and has expanded to almost 200 scenes.
It takes 11 weeks (from late August to early November) to set up and power the light show and five weeks to take it down.
Over 8 miles of extension cords are used to light the displays.
2000 luminaries guide visitors through the light show.
