September and October bring scarecrows of all personalities to the Garden. Traditional, scary or just plain fun, they are all imaginative and add a whimsical atmosphere. Trees take on a new look in the Enchanted Forest. Hayrides on the weekends, the amazing sorghum maze and some extra-special events make for a fall of fabulous family fun!

A HealthWalk pathway through the Scarecrow Trail, complete with signage, provides ideas for healthy living.

Crestwood HealthFair

October 4, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
The HealthFair features entertainment at the Boeing-Toyota Amphitheatre from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; special health screenings and information; and giveaways for the children - all located on the Great Lawn of the Children’s Garden.

BOO-tanica

Satturday, Oct 25, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Children’s Garden

Calling all witches, goons, ghosts and goblins. We need you to make our Halloween the most fright-tabulous ever!!!

Join us for exciting festivities including the cauldron grab, jack-o-lantern jump, ghouls golf, witch’s hat ring toss, and much, much more! There will be a costume contest at 10 a.m. in the Boeing-Toyota Amphitheatre. After the games are over, take a hayride or walk the Scarecrow Trail and Enchanted Forest.

Regular Garden admission for non-members, members free.

Hoot in the Woods

Saturday, Oct 25, 6-9 p.m.
Grisham Pavilion

Bring a family member or a friend for a Hoot in the Woods. Join us at the Grisham Pavilion to start this night of fun with a hayride to the back of the Garden. Visit the Sorghum Maze and see what goblins await you. Enjoy roasting marshmallows and making smores. Are you brave enough to venture into the Enchanted Forest and hear ghost stories and spooky music? Enjoy goo pots with eyeballs and "innards" and lots of spooky surprises.

Members $8/adults, $3/children ages 3-18; Non-members $10/adults, and $5/children ages 3-18.

Calling All Crows 2008

It’s hard to believe it’s time to start planning for the Scarecrow Trail. This year, as always, we are expecting a real crowd of unusual, funny, and scary scarecrows. We would like to invite families, neighborhood groups, clubs, and local corporations to join in on the fun.

Entry deadline is August 15. Entry fee is $25 per ‘Crow for families and schools. The corporate fee is $50. Set up is scheduled for August 22-28, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and August 29, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Scarecrows will be on display September and October. Download scarecrow entry forms and construction tips.
