Dog Days of Weddings

Morgan-Howell wedding Photo by Ethan GulleyIncluding your dog in your wedding is a great way to add some fun and to have your bestie with you on your very special day.  From engagement photos and save-the-date announcements to walking the aisle, your pets have the option to play many roles in a wedding.

At the ceremony, they can walk as the ring bearer carrying the rings or as the flower dog wearing a floral collar. They can lead out with the bridesmaids or the groomsmen or be the escort for the bride.  Many just walk the aisle with a sign around their neck.  Cute sayings like “I loved her first”, “I Do Too,” “Here comes my Mommy”, “Our humans are marrying”, “My parents are getting married”, “Dog of Honor”, “Best Dog, “ are just a few of the many possibilities.  Make sure you run your plans past your officiant to get his or her approval to having a pet in the ceremony.

You will need to consider hiring a pet sitter to take your pet to the event and be in charge of your pet during and then to take them home after so they don’t get into trouble or your wedding cake.  Huntsville Botanical Gardens is a very pet friendly venue so go ahead and personalize your wedding by including your furry best friend in your ceremony.  They are sure to bring a smile to all.
