About the Class

Embark on a hands-on journey into the world of hydroponics! This 2-hour beginner friendly workshop introduces you to the sustainable, soil-free way of growing fresh plants—then lets you build and bring home your very own simple hydroponic system.

Materials Provided: 5-gallon container, growing baskets, 5 butterhead lettuce starter plants, pH strips, sampling of nutrients, and TDS meter

About Your Instructor


Karolina is a dedicated educator with 10 years of experience in teaching people of all ages. Currently she is the Horticulture Educator at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, where she continues to share her knowledge and love of plants with the community. Karolina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Kean University. With a background in hydroponic growing, she has spent 7 years operating a number of hydroponic farms in the NYC and New Jersey, honing her skills in sustainable and innovative gardening.
