Experience the magic of Shakespeare like never before—outdoors, at sundown, and surrounded by the natural beauty of Huntsville Botanical Garden. Shakespeare in the Garden returns for another unforgettable summer of live theater under the stars.
Performed by UAH’s “Huntsville Shakes,” this year’s rotating productions feature two beloved comedies: Much Ado About Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew. With minimalist staging and a fresh perspective, these timeless works come to life in an intimate open-air setting.
Set against the Garden’s lush backdrop, this enchanting evening invites guests to relax and enjoy live performance. Enhance your visit with themed souvenirs, signature cocktail, and light bites from our on-site food trailer.

Event Timeline & Details
- Timing: Ticket scanning will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The performance will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:00 p.m.
- Seating: Guests are encouraged to bring cushions or blankets for added comfort to sit on the Amphitheatre’s concrete steps. Lawn chairs are permitted but must be placed in the back row of the Amphitheatre or in the surrounding grassy areas to ensure clear sightlines for all guests.
- Refreshments: Refreshments will be available in the Amphitheatre. Fern & Feast On-The-Go, the Garden’s bistro food trailer, will be serving concession-style bites. The Garden Bar will be serving spirited and non-spirited beverages.
- A Note from Nature: Natural summer sounds will be part of the experience—sometimes the frogs like to accompany the drama.
- Don’t forget bug spray—the warm summer air brings the bugs out too.
- Weather: This event is rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, guests will be notified via email of any event changes.
