Please note: These activities are separate from the Groundhog Day Lunch and tickets for each event must be purchased separately.
WHNT weatherman Ben Smith will emcee the ceremony!
Groundhog Day is a day to take everything a little less seriously and break up the winter monotony…at least for a little while. But you don’t have to travel all the way to Punxsutawney to celebrate. The seer of seers, groundhog “Smith Lake Jake” will make his prognostication right here at the Garden! According to legend, if Smith Lake Jake sees his shadow, he’ll return to his den and winter will continue for another six weeks. If the day is cloudy and he doesn’t see his shadow, spring will arrive early. Bring your cameras to capture that special moment and join us for a morning of festivities and a ticketed lunch.
9:30 am: Groundhog-themed crafts, face painting, and live music by the Silvery Moon Band
10:30 am: Groundhog ceremony at Little Smith Lake, emceed by WHNT weatherman Ben Smith
Ticketed lunch will follow.
