Great Backyard Bird Count Birding Walk | Member exclusive in-person walk

Join birding expert Herb Lewis on this morning walk through the Garden to seek, spot, and identify birds in their natural habitat. With Herb as your guide, you will learn how to look for local and migrating birds, explore what kind of landscape attracts them, and come to see why the Garden is a hotspot for a multitude of bird species. Suitable for expert and novice birders alike, this is an authentic birding experience you won't want to miss!

Additional Information: This class will take place in person at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, and all class attendees are expected to adhere to the Garden’s health and safety guidelines. Maximum capacity for this class is 20 attendees, plus the instructor. Attendees will enter the Guest Center. The majority of this class will take place outdoors, but in case of inclement weather, the class will be moved inside. If you have binoculars, please bring them along for the best birding experience!
In case of bad weather, Herb will present a "Virtual Bird Walking Tour”.

About Herb Lewis:
Herb Lewis, a retired engineer, has a passion for gardening and birding and a joy for sharing his knowledge and experiences. To better identify over 100 birds species attracted to his own backyard wildlife habitat, he has embraced bird photography. Herb shares his success and techniques for attracting birds through presentations, workshops and training events. His birding interest has expanded into the establishment of the Lewis Birding Trail and Lewis Bird Watch at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. He is a volunteer member of the Horticulture and Conservation Committees at the Garden, and is a docent and shuttle driver.
