Morning Bird Walk with Herb Lewis | In-person class

Join birding expert Herb Lewis on this morning walk through the Garden to seek, spot, and identify birds in their natural habitat. With Herb as your guide, you will learn how to look for local and migrating birds, explore what kind of landscape attracts them, and come to see why the Garden is a hotspot for a multitude of bird species. Suitable for expert and novice birders alike, this is an authentic birding experience you won't want to miss!

Additional Information: This class will take place in-person at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Please come prepared for the weather. All visitors, staff, and volunteers are asked to follow the recommendations of the CDC regarding face masks/coverings and social distancing. About Herb Lewis:

Since retiring in 2004, Herb Lewis has dedicated himself to landscaping, birding, and photography. Over the past 16 years, he has channeled his knowledge and experience into creating a natural wildlife habitat within his own backyard garden to attract native and migrating birds. Herb is an Honorary Master Gardener, serving as an instructor for Master Gardener classes covering three counties, and he has provided workshops for the annual Alabama Audubon Mountain Workshop. Herb and his wife Terry sponsored and helped develop the Lewis Birding Trail at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, where he also serves as a volunteer shuttle driver and docent.
