Plant a Pot: Container Design | In-Person class

Freshen up your patio with a beautiful annual planter and learn the basics of container design. In this hands-on class, instructor Nettie Hardy will cover design concepts, planting tools, and care as you plant a pot to take home. Each class attendee will plant annual flowers in a pot to take home and enjoy for the summer! Soil, plants, and containers are provided.

About Nettie Hardy:

Nettie Hardy graduated from Auburn University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture with a focus on Greenhouse Science and a Minor in Psychology. She received her certificate in Horticultural Therapy from the Horticultural Therapy Institute. Nettie spent her career focusing on connecting people to plants and is passionate about how this improves the quality of life for our communities and individuals alike. She is a firm believer that horticulture is a creative process and has been using her creative juices to design interesting containers for the last 10 years. She fell in love with teaching through her work at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens in their children’s garden. She currently serves as Horticulture Educator here at Huntsville Botanical Garden where she partners her love of plants and people through teaching and caring for the Children’s Garden and Purdy Butterfly House. In her free time, Nettie loves hiking with her husband Jason, and spending time with their three rescue dogs.
