Instructor: Chris Stuhlinger, Certified Arborist Want to learn how to identify native trees by using only bark, twig, and fruit characteristics? This one-session class (repeated March 1) will teach attendees the basic principles of using combinations of tree characteristics such as overall growth habit, bark, twigs, buds, and fruit to identify about 20 trees (without leaves), at least to the family or genus level. The focus of the class is primarily on overstory and understory trees native to northern Alabama.…
