Huntsville Botanical Garden celebrates National Public Gardens Day with free admission and new look

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 1, 2024) – On Friday, May 10, 2024, Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG) invites all garden lovers, plant aficionados, nature enthusiasts, and curious visitors to enjoy free Garden admission in celebration of National Public Gardens Day.

National Public Gardens Day, occurring annually on the Friday before Mother’s Day, is a day to promote awareness of botanic gardens, arboreta, zoos, historic gardens, or any of North America’s public gardens.

After more than a year of strategic research, community input, and careful planning, HBG is also taking that day to celebrate the launch of its new brand.

New Museums for All membership tier announced for Huntsville Botanical Garden

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (April 29, 2024) – Membership at Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG) just became more accessible for those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits). Recognized by locals and tourists as one of the best attractions in the Southeast, HBG has added a Museums for All tier to its membership structure.

HBG has been a Museums for All participant for several years, providing a reduced admission rate of $3 per person (for up to four people per household) with presentation of EBT card and valid photo ID. In addition to this discounted admission, HBG has added a Museums for All membership tier, allowing qualifying individuals and families one year of garden membership for $25. This membership level has the same benefits as the Family membership (regularly-priced at $130).

Huntsville Botanical Garden, STAR 99.1 FM partner for Working Women’s Wednesdays

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (April 23, 2024) – Join Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG) and Star 99.1 in celebrating the incredible hardworking women of Huntsville. On Wednesdays from May 1 through June 26 from 5-7 p.m., HBG will be home to STAR 99.1 FM’s Working Women’s Wednesdays. Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, this event series offers music, cocktails, wine, and food specials while set against the backdrop of the Garden’s vibrant atmosphere.

Huntsville Botanical Garden extends operational hours, hosts multiple new event series

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (April 17, 2024) – Recognized by locals and tourists as one of the best attractions in the Southeast, Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG) is extending its operational hours from April through September.

The new hours are Monday and Tuesday, 9-6; Wednesday-Saturday, 9-dusk (7:30 p.m. in April, 8 p.m. in May-Aug, and 7:30 p.m. in September); Sunday, 11-6. In October, closing time reverts to 6 p.m. on all days.

Celebrate cultures from around the world at Huntsville Botanical Garden this summer

Get ready to experience world cultures from the comfort and stunning surroundings of Huntsville Botanical Garden (HBG)—no passport required! Global Rhythm & Blooms is an enriching event series dedicated to celebrating the vibrant tapestry of cultures from Huntsville’s international communities through music, dance, food and drink. The event series will take place in the shade of the Cedar Glade on Thursdays, April 18 through Sept. 26, from 5 p.m. until dusk.

“Music, food, and flowers transcend language barriers and are deeply rooted aspects of cultures around the world,” said HBG CEO Susan Wagner. “Huntsville Botanical Garden is a place that invites and welcomes people of all walks of life to enjoy the beauty of nature, and the Global Rhythm & Blooms event series gives guests another reason to connect not only with our surroundings but also with each other.”

The HBG Spring Plant Sale starts with a Members-Only Preview Sale on April 11, from 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., for HBG members. Not a member but you want to get a jump on the best selection? Become a member at the sale to enjoy the special membership perk of early shopping. The HBG Spring Plant Sale will open to the public for the remaining days.
