From Garden to Vase: Growing cut flowers at home

If you like fresh arrangements, then this class is for you! Growing your own cut flowers is rewarding and adds life to any room. In this class, you will learn excellent plants to utilize, planting techniques, and proper cutting procedures. You will leave with the confidence to start a cut flower garden at home and we will provide you with some wildflower seeds to get started.

Additional Information: This class will take place in person at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Attendees will receive an email with details on the room location. The class will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., so please arrive at the Garden a few minutes early to allow time to travel to the class location.

About Rebecca Turk:
Rebecca has been growing cut flowers in her home garden for over 10 years. She and her husband love to grow a variety of cut flowers in the “cottage-like” landscape at home. Rebecca holds a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University. She discovered her passion for public horticulture and teaching through her mom and her various employments at the SFA Mast Arboretum, “Nacogdoches Naturally” Education Program, Missouri Botanical Garden, JC Raulston Arboretum, and Moore Farms Botanical Garden. At the Huntsville Botanical Garden, she serves as the Director of Learning and Public Engagement. She has a strong passion for educating the community, leadership, public horticulture, and sharing her love for the outdoors while teaching. She and her husband Christopher love their shared interest of horticulture and enjoy every moment outside with their sweet daughters Emilia and Ila.
