Making Good Choices: Helping Homeowners Find a Balance in Plant Selection
March 8, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Homeowners have many choices of plants for their residential landscape. Sometimes, good choices in selecting plants benefit the property owner, pollinators, and wildlife. This short course, led by Mike Shelton, will increase homeowners’ knowledge of native plants and their use around the home. Participants will gain insight into finding a balance using ornamental and naturalized species and avoiding pesky invasive plants. Following the classroom session, the group will tour selected areas of the Garden and connect to plants that can work in home landscapes. See instructor bio below.
Participants may bring appropriate shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellant to make the walk more comfortable.
