At Huntsville Botanical Garden, every family finds a place to play, learn, and grow together amid our verdant landscapes and vibrant blooms.

We invite families to connect with nature and each other through interactive activities and educational adventures that spark curiosity and foster a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Join us for a family program at the Garden and watch your family’s love for nature blossom.

Firefly Night Hikes

Join us for a special guided hike featuring the amazing fireflies that call the Garden home! These intriguing insects are most active as the sun is setting and it starts to get dark. You’ll learn about their life cycle and how you can create a habitat for them in your backyard.

Gardening with Kids: Family workshops

Come learn about gardening as a family!  These programs are designed for families with children from 3 – 13 years old.  As an experience for the whole family, they include an educational experience, a walk in the garden, and a fun make-and-take project for each child registered.  Join us throughout the year to spend time gardening with kids!

Fall Family Field Trips

Come have fun with the whole family on a Fall Family Field Trip!

Create family memories while exploring and enjoying the Garden with these guided programs. The program lasts for 2 hours and includes a guided tour of the Garden and hands-on activity stations. The program is appropriate for families with children from ages 2-13.
