See Rocket City Birdhouse
The Garden’s summer theme-“Houses-Huts & Habitats” added an exceptional bird educational element to the Birding Trail. Housed within the “See Rocket City” birdhouse located near the Vegetable Demonstration Garden are a set of murals beautifully rendered by volunteer artist Laura Welker.
The murals display three bird habitats- meadows, lakes, and houses- that exist in the Garden. Birds associated with each habitat are artistically portrayed in their natural plumage and behavior.
Young viewers will gain a basic understanding of bird habitats and the species of birds that may be found in each habitat.
